There are a lot of reasons why night clubs and bars have parking lots, it is a place I have used to park my car a few times. A lot of people need a place to park their car if they have been drinking too much. A person who ownes those kind of places knows there will always at least one car or truck in their parking lot the next morning. When I was single I left my car in a lot of bar parking lots about once a month. Sometimes after talking to the owner of the bar I would leave my car the whole weekend. If you are a good customer they would never tell not to park in their lot. When you meet a new friend at a bar and they do not want go anywhere else with you it is good that you can stay in parking for a little while before going home. Any time you want to stop for one beer after work and you can park next to the place the odds are you will always pick the place that has parking. When you can get a good meal at a bar and you have such a short lunch break, quick parking is what everyone wants. A lot of bars have party rooms for small groups of people who must have a good place for the whole group to park. Since a lot of bars have smoking bans there has to be a parking lot with a fence so that people can eat, drink and smoke. Since there are a lot of people drinking late into the night bar owners know that there must have a good parking lot with plenty of lights so their customers cars will not be vandalized. Everyone who drinks away from their home will at some time get in their car and drive home and the idea of why bars have parking lots has nothing to do with drinking or driving. We all know drinking and driving has nothing to do about where we park or where we drink. The thing about parking lots and drinking has been a joke every since there has been bars with parking lots. I guess people will drink and drive as long as there is a place to drink. I guess people do drink in parking lots as much as they drink anywhere else. Some people drink in bar parking lots that have been thrown out of bars and they are not even driving. I wonder if bars have parking lots so they can sell to the people that can’t come in their bars? They may have parking lots because some of their customers are married and they need a place to park their cars while going to a motel. I am sure that people use a bar parking lot for a lot of things that has nothing to do with drinking or driving.
